"Disgruntled" - I can understand that, usually bending your knees and landing in a stabilised position will absorb most shock and it isn't as bad as say jogging as it is not at frequent and continual. I injured my knee by actually landing after a kick on the knee itself - pretty painful. It has recurring effects when say my knee is knocked it becomes very painful easily so i'm not entirely sure the extent of the damaged caused!
