I'm not sure. I do know that it was the base of JKD for him, but I don't know if it is why he came up with Jeet Kune Do, but I have a great feeling that Gung Fu wasn't why he created it.
P.s I don't know if anybody gets the impression of this, but I don't want to sound like I think I know everything, or that I know all about JKD. I am just sharing my opinion, so please don't take any of my responces the wrong way.
