| My guess is same as yours. Instead of having 2 weight divisions, now all 16 are competing in the same division, more competition, and they can also address where UFC thinks whichever division needs extra attention.
They've recently started back up the lightweight division so TUF 5 is probably targeted for that. I have no idea why TUF 6 is geared towards the welterweight, which I think UFC has the best depth. I would think they still need some help in the heavyweight division. |
