When you listed weapons, you listed katana/shinai as similar weapons. Do you train with both katana and shinai, or just with one or the other? Most schools do not utilize both, so I would love to hear about one that combines both the full power/technique of the cutting strikes utilized by the katana and the ability to spar allowed by shinai.
Also, I love that someone else knows the full name of the bo.
Translation of "Rokushakubo" is as follows; roku=6, shaku is a unit of measurement that is within an inch or so of a foot, and bo=stick. The full name simply means "six foot stick."
