pain in my heel - at the back close to the sole of my foot.

I've had the same pain for over a year until recently the pain got worse especially in the morning when forst walking after getting out of bed.
A year ago when I test I did a sidekick break and my left foot and my heel was never the same after that ... so I figured it was some type of fracture.
I went to the podiatrist and he took some xrays and they revealed I had a heel spur on my left heel.
"A heel spur is a hook of bone that forms on the bone at the back of the foot. A heel spur is commonly associated with plantar fasciitis."
I am wearing a night splint and doing morning stretches to cure it... but that can take anywhere from 3 mos to a year.
Have it checked out by a foot doctor ... don't wait as long as I did as it most probably will get worse and take longer to heal.
