| It will always be quicker to move on your feet i presume than it would be to flip or cartwheel. Rolling (back wards and forwards are occasionally used, if you lose your balance on a kick for example, rolling can quickly enable you to get on your feet, and also if youre pushed to the floor. The flexibility gained from gymnastic training will be of value to all martial artists as will be strength exercises which can be implemented into a martial arts workouts, (handstand pressup, chin ups hanging on rings)
