Drunken boxing cannot be fully done unless the person is drunk. Acting drunk is not in its fullest. Thats why the word "drunken" is there. There are other aspects to the style that only being drunk, will contribute.

Yes, alcohol will make it harder for those that are used sober, are not actually drunken. Therefore, they are not doing drunken style if they cannot do the moves intoxicated.

The style's name, is the essence of how it came to be and used.
