I think some styles do suit certain personalities better than others. For instance, kyokushin is certainly for people who tend to be more aggressive because it requires a lot of extreme physical conditioning and no-pads sparring. On the other hand, aikido seems more suited for those who are passive because it concentrates on a lot of defensive techniques that turn your opponents attack against them.
