It is human nature (reguardless of religion) to find members of the opposite sex attractive, and, I believe, completely natural and acceptable to "date" , while in early adulthood, multiple partners (not nessesarily at the same time). Its a way to find out what aspects of personality and physicality you prefeer.
These relationships are not meaningless even if they don't net a perfect union with a true love. Experience(not nessesarily sexually) is very important for true maturity.
"Hot" girls can be smart/ good natured too.
Personality does count for a lot, but, I believe, nature imbued in all of us a set of standards by which we judge potential mates for the purpose of creating and sustaining a healthy family.
I don't mean to slander or sleight religious perspective with my statements that seem weighted towards science.
In the end, you really are only sapposed to do what feels/ is right for you.
