Simply enough as you watch more and more proficient Jedi then you realize their techniques are faster. For eg. The fight between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan was a fight between two old fogies not as strong in the force as say others. Also when Luke started to use one hand in stead of both it meant that he was letting the force carry more... savvy? | Interesting points, however, pretty much anyone who trains will end up with faster and better techniques. Also, regardless of the Force, how excactly do you think it would be possible for something so small to be so heavy? Even if the lightsaber was made of solid iron, it still wouldn't hit the 50lbs mark.
