I prefer the idea of knowing your enemy, most Americans don't. Allot of Al-Queadas "theology" is dirived from the Hasan Order also know as the order of the Assassins from back in the crusade period of history. There is no formal link just claims to make Al-Queada seem all the more like "holy avangers" to attract recruits.
All in all, Al-Queada is a relic of U.S. intelligence polcy, we training and funded Ben Laden so he could fight the Soviets in Afganistan and we could learn how the Soviets did things. When the USSR colapsed the form Soviet nations slowly became our allies and Ben Laden lost face and power. Now he has turned himself in a warlord to try to boost that power. Its all very childish for world leaders.
Now on being in Iraq, we told the Iraqis to rise against Hussan and we would help them. We didn't, so I think we should have went into Iraq the first time. The problem is we are there now under false pretenses of WMDs that don't exist and now Iraqi parlerment is talk a month off four times a year. We need to start letting the Iragis have control of there lives, because to be honest this looks more like a "grab for oil" then helping anybody... |
