Kuji-kiri, Saminjutsu & Depersonalization...

All this ninjutsu information and we spend allot of time talking about training. I belive in scientific training, methods which leads us to the three biggest topics of ninjitsu that most people simply don't know exist, or don't understand.

All this can scientifically be classified as Depersonalization exercises. Kuji-kiri is a Shinto finger knitting meditation which invokes the elements of self-hypnosis, visualization exercises and common meditative exercise. Some individuals teach kuji-kiri as a exercise leading into Saminjutsu the ninjutsu art/science of psychological manipulation & hypnosis. In this form Kuji-kiri is used to induce self-hypnosis as an exercise and not as a religious ritual. In this form one is altering brain chemicals and implanting suggestions through self-hypnosis. This varies from the Shinto invocation of Kami, only as the idea of summoning a spiritual being to grant one power is not taught/nor suggested of the practicer.

The goal is the final product of depersonalization, creating a sitaution where the two himisfers of the brain work similtaiosly without one gaining a dominatent position. This allows the individual to use the "imaginative" side of the brain to solve problems, and take action while in a semi-trance like state that also allows the "analitical" side to reference, interpet and remember information at the same time.

While this may seem "magical" it is by no means such, several mental illness, drugs or by simple natural ability of the individual allow for this respect. To a martial artist this allows for complete awareness of the enviornment with being able to deal with an attacker. For a person who is able to assemble information in this way and still be ingaged in high stress situations with mmany distarctions & even suffer "sensory overload" this grants a seemless state where the two sides of the brain operated togther but without direct interaction. So that an seemly random act that causes good favor is not the act of spiritual being but the merging contious and subcontious mind.

The draw back to such depersonalization exercises is that
1) They effect short term memory...
2) They can lead to dementia through making a person more suseptable to suggestions...
3) The trance like state often allows a person to become desenitized to physical stemulli such as phyisical pain or physicall pleasure...
4) Over use of these methods eventually erodes the "trance" effecting sleep. Causing "visions" where the body is at rest while asleep, but one wakes up psychologically fatigued because the mind was still working...
5) Possible mental illnesses that could result are Skitsophratia, Bi-polar disorder & the creation of false memories...

Thoughts questions, input...
