You don't want it to be there but you depend on it.) | Yeah, but some relatively untrained thug on the street might not know that.  If the throat strike doesn't work (I don't entirely expect it to anyway), I simply hit 'em hard. I use the techniques I know. Anyway, back to kickboxing.
Use your power. Don't completely rely on it, though. Balance yourself between speed and power. Make sure proper technique is in there as well.
