Is it that they are much thicker? | Judo and jujitsu gis are MUCH thicker and heavier than karate gis. Usually they are double or triple weave, and that is why they are more expensive. However, you can get a comparable super heavyweight karate gi for about the same price. The only difference is karate gis have flap ties and most judo and jujitsu gis don't because the tops are always getting pulled out of your belt anyway.
