PRELIMINARY BOUTS:

TOMMY SPEER VS. ANTHONY JOHNSON
R1 – Johnson edging ahead early with his kicks and punching. He catches Speer with a left kick to the head that drops Speer, but Speer is quickly back to his feet. Johnson is relentless, unloading with punching combinations, dropping Speer with a right cross to end the fight early.

GEORGE SOTIROPOULOS VS. ROMAN MITICHYAN
R1 – Mitichyan started striking early, but Sotiropoulos fought hard for and scored the takedown early on, immediately gaining the back of Mitichyan on the ground. Mitichyan attempted to stand up to maybe slam Sotiropoulos, but got caught in a rear naked choke, which he was able to fend off and reverse position, then get back to his feet. They once again hit the mat with Sotiropoulos dominating position and working various attempts for an armbar before running out of time.
MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Sotiropoulos.

R2 – Sotiropoulos again scores the early takedown and starts working from side control. He transitions to back mount and then full front mount and starts dropping down punches to Mitichyan’s face and body. He doesn’t relent and the referee stops the bout as Mitichyan is almost completely out.

CLAY GUIDA VS. SAMY SCHIAVO
R1 – Schiavo searched for an opening for his strikes early on, as the crowd was chanting for Guida. Guida held the center of the ring, patiently waiting for an opportunity. Midway into the round, Schiavo landed a couple of hard shots that appeared to hurt Guida, but Guida dropped for a double-leg and took his French opponent down, working from half guard. With 1:30 left, Guida attained full mount, then started dropping left hands to the side of the head until the referee stopped the fight.

MANNY GAMBURYAN VS. JEFF COX
R1 – Gamburyan gets caught shooting in with a guillotine attempt, but gets out quickly. They clinch along the fence for a time, before Gamburyan executes a beautiful Judo throw and immediately locks on a guillotine choke for the win.

MARCUS AURELIO VS. RYAN ROBERTS
R1 – They start trading blows immediately and Aurelio drops Roberts to the mat with a straight right, follows him down and locks on a fight ending armbar.

DIN THOMAS VS. JOSH NEER
R1 – A couple solid punching exchanges in the opening minute, with Neer appearing to get the better of them. Thomas then starts in with good head movement and crisp boxing before getting taken down. Working from the guard, Neer drops down some heavy punches. Thomas kicks Neer back and stands up. They exchange again before Thomas leg trips Neer to the canvas, doesn’t mount much offense, then stands the fight back up.

R2 – Some brief exchanges to start, then Thomas starts landing some stunning blows a little more than a minute in. Neer fires back intermittently with some good blows of his own. There are several exchanges of position from standing to ground and back, but with very little damage being done. Close, close round.

R3 – Neer starts the round with some stinging kicks to Thomas’ legs, putting him on the mat. He then starts working from guard with some solid ground and pound. Neer lands several elbows across Thomas’ face. About two minutes into the round, referee Herb Dean calls to have a deep cut under Thomas’ eye checked, but the fight is allowed to continue. Neer back s out and stands Thomas up, landing some hard kicks to Thomas’ right leg. In reaction, Thomas pulls guard and Neer continues his ground and pound attack.
