| I think they are a bit different. As much as I enjoy UFC, sometimes it has a lot to do with who's fighting than the pure techniques. And techniques used between the two are certainly different (e.g. no grappling/takedown in WCL)
I've seen clips of the WCL and it looked pretty good but since I don't know who the fighters are and their background, I didn't know who to cheer for or even anticipate a different match up.
In that sense, I think UFC has done a good job of promoting themselves and getting people hooked for the next match ups. |
