The reason you have this fight is because Thiago's recent win over Karo. Karo was suppose to win that fight and then fight Jon Fitch to decide who would get the title shot. But Karo got caught with a knee (I was soooo pissed
) So now you got Thiago Alves in the mix and who the hell wants to see that. So put him up against Matt Hughes, since Chuck is injured and Rashad can't carry a main event. Then you build up some hype for the Serra vs. Hughes fight. Or worst case scenario if Alves wins then you can book him against Fitch, "after his stunning upset against Matt Hughes and putting out the heat blah blah blah". I hope Matt kills him.
