AJJ good choice wrestling will be a great help to you not only in your ma endeavors but, in general as well. You will not find athletes that are better conditioned then a good wrestler, that is generally speaking of course.

Little Dragon, your ideas on what wrestling is are very misguided to the point that it's actually kind of sad. I think you should look into wrestling more, maybe not as a competitive sport but, more into what the techniques are and the principals. I can point you in the direction of good tutorial videos if you don't have a near by school of wrestling. Remember being a striker is great but, you have to be on your feet to do that. You should always fight where you are comfortable at but, just from your posts I can pretty much say that even my worst wrestlers would be able to take you down pretty easily, as long as they keep their hands up. Even if you don't want to wrestle it's really the only way to learn good defense and obtain a good scramble back to you feet. Get what I mean?

A lot of people already know this but, to our younger guys I have to say. Your sifu, sensei, master, coach or whatever does not know everything and everything they say is not the absolute truth, they are just people. Feel free to be curious ask questions and do research. This forum is a great place for that so utilize and ask questions with an open mind.

cheers and good luck training.
