how you prepared for fights?
that is all, thank you. | As for street fights, I can't count how many I was in during high school. Went to a very rough school, and it was either fight or be bullied constantly.
In competition, I did point sparring in two tournaments as a teenager in the beginner and then intermediate Mississippi Karate Association divisions. Didn't place in either.
I competed again in full contact kumite in two International Tohgi Karate-Do Association tournaments in Japan in 1991 and 1992. I didn't place in the first one but earned second place in my division in the second tournament. Those competitions were no-pads matches, which was good practice for the numerous bar fights I got pulled into while in the military. In 1993, I competed in the Southwest Alabama Open Karate Championships in Mobile and placed second in point sparring. This year I have returned to competition and have competed in three Alabama Karate Circuit tournaments. I've received second place each time in point sparring. In continuous fighting, I've placed first twice and second once. For point sparring, we wear hand and foot pads as well as head gear. For continuous fighting we wear head gear, foot pads, and 10 ounce boxing gloves.
I have no special way that I prepare for fights. I train all the time, so I feel prepared every day.
