Home Country: | Okay, I didn't get a chance to read through all the posts, sorry, I'll try to get to them later (limited internet access )
Anyway, here it goes:
I couldn't possibly count the number of fights and/or competitions I've been in, but I'll say this, when I was younger I attended a very rough school that turned a blind eye to violence in the school and I was a very independant young female who did NOT like to be touched!!! So, to say the least I was always in a scrap with some rather rough boys.. luckly being a small female, they never saw it coming (or if they did they certainly were unable to stop it) so I was farely unscathed throughout my young school life, I transfered to another (much better) school during high school were I was well known for teaching martial arts, so I was never bothered and had a very productive school life As an adult (21yrs and up) I refrained from fights (not getting goated in so easily) due to being a responsible parent at age 22, but I will admit to unfortunately being in circumstances that required me to fight and again, I was pretty much unscathed, though I can not say the same for the man who brought forth the situation.
Competitions: When I was 6 years old (approx) I competed in small combined club competitions and usally won, but it wasing until I was around age 11 (i think)that I started competiting in large martial arts tournaments.. and usually won 1st or 2nd place (in both forms and sparring), and from age 14 through 20yrs old I held 1st Place in the Top Ten Women's Black Belt Division for the USTA/ITA for both Sparring (point sparing, medium to hard contact black belt adults division) and in Forms. I competited during my pregnancy with my first son and recieved 2nd place forms and weapons. I resumed competition after having my son too soon for my body to heal and regain calcium and unfortunately tore my acl and fractured my leg (my pivoting leg) doing a spin hook kick that atleast took the head gear off my opponent and had to take a season off to recoop. I started back competiting in open tournaments again and held Alabama State Champ in 2005 for forms, weapons and sparring, and was unable to compete the past 2 years due to moving, etc, but now I'm back at it again, though pregnant (if only in forms and weapons) I will take some time to train after having my number 2 child and hopefully mid season next year I'll be able to fight, grapple and more
