Two totally different techniques with two totally different purposes.
I get annoyed at the bounce only because it uses so much energy. I see kids who do it literally gasping for breath before a minute is up. Like all good things, it is very possible to over do it. Plant too much and it is harder to move, bounce too much and you have no power/stability.
