It will give you some extra wind and improve your health overall, but how you generally use energy in martial arts is different from in running. With running, you are generally at a moderate, even pace. However, in martial arts there are usually long periods of rest interspersed with short bits of intensity.

So, I am not saying don't run, but I am suggesting that you change it up with wind sprints once in a while. However, the most effective way to increase your stamina for martial arts is to do martial arts.
