The system I train in is definatly watered down from what it was originaly. This is due, in part, to Americans and wanting it all for less. Well, America(ns) want everything fast. Fast women/fast food/fast cars/fast heating/etc.

But in the course of a subject to study, it makes sense to put in the amount of time worth the amount of effort for the amount of skill.
