The chinese part of kuntao silat is the use of the chinese stances mostly, like the twisted horse, the horse, the crane, the dragon, the sanake ect. Can you acually take someone down using your stances. I know its possible in the kwoon(dojo) but has anyone ever seen it on the streets or outside the kwoon? |
I have taken people down by use of stance only, but not sure if that is exactly what you are looking for. I don't study Kun Tao, and have come to believe that some of the traditional animal stances are more dangerous in a street app than they are worth. Not to say they are worthless. Everything has use in the proper time and space, but I think they are used improperly by too many too much of the time. Just my 2 cents worth.
