Indeed.

It isn't that I dont realise that the term "Mixed Martial Art" is the NAME of a sport. Just like Boxing, Kickboxing, Wrestling, etc.

But as in the structure of a name, derived from some generalized defining, we have;

Boxing, was another name for Pugilism

Kickboxing is a combination of boxing and a kicking art, for ex.- Karate.

However, given that the Sport of MMA, its definition and practices clearly indicate that it is "Mixed".

Therefore, any art, such as kickboxing, etc., is a "mixed martial art", though not in the sport-name.
