Kickboxing is a combination of boxing and a kicking art, for ex.- Karate.
However, given that the Sport of MMA, its definition and practices clearly indicate that it is "Mixed".
Therefore, any art, such as kickboxing, etc., is a "mixed martial art", though not in the sport-name. |
yeah i see what you are going at because a lot of Kung Fu is technically considered "Mixed" Martial Arts because it has a lot of other martial arts in it right? i mean if you strip away the names the ways and theories are the same right? such as striking and grappling, etc there are many techniques from this art or this art found in kung fu or another art, so is true MMA?
ok i cant explain what im trying to get at here, but imma try
ok so in my mind a true Mixed Martial Art is a way of fighting that mixes other ways of fighting (I.E one martial art that mixes others, or one Martial Artist that mixes other arts)
but i still see the term MMA as the sport.
