ok i cant explain what im trying to get at here, but imma try
ok so in my mind a true Mixed Martial Art is a way of fighting that mixes other ways of fighting (I.E one martial art that mixes others, or one Martial Artist that mixes other arts)
but i still see the term MMA as the sport. |
Yes! Though it seems like "semantics", the definition in many dictionaries of
martial art goes something like :
"any Asian (Oriental) method of hand-to-hand combat"
Are we to accept this definition?
Is a martial art confined to Asian?
Is a martial art hand to hand only?
The same for Kung Fu. its term was simply skill. In vhinese history, martial arts weren't refeered to just as Kung Fu, but Quans.
Therefore, given its translation, ANY martial art, including "Sport MMA", can be Kung Fu.
