So let's say you're in an MMA match. You have already said you want to keep it standing, yes? So let's say a guy shoots in on you and you are able to keep him off of you long enough to get to the cage which you can use to keep him off of you easier.

Is that cheating?

Let's say a guy tries to pull you into guard and you turn and have the ref stand him back up.

Is that cheating?

Let's say a guy takes you down and you are able to hold on for last 2 minutes of the round knowing the bell is going to save you.

Is that cheating?

You keep saying things like

For me, in competition, I'm not all about the "w". I'm more about the experience.
But guess what, the fight IS THE EXPERIENCE! And in the fight, there are ways to use the rules to achieve a win. This is known as strategy. To throw stategy out of the window for training is bad coaching, in my opinion.

I want to fight someone MY SIZE, not someone larger who just lost weight last night so he could weigh the same as me.
Then you should drop to next weight class down WHERE ALL THE GUYS YOUR SIZE ARE FIGHTING!

Gambatte, this is how it works dude. It's part of the game, and if you are ever going to be a member of the community involved i combat sports you need to realize this and prepare for it in training.
