With so many heated discussion over the weekend, I didn't even realize that we've passed through the 80,000 post mark.

At the beginning of the year, we set the goal for 100,000 posts by end of the year thinking it would be a stretch goal, but now that we are so close with more than 5 months left, it's time to set a new goal.

The new goal is to reach 150,000 by Dec 31, 2008. The pure number of post is not the best measure of a forum. It's the quality of the post and the members. I'm certainly not suggesting we give up quality to get quantity but I believe with quality, we will get more members participating and even get new members to want to join in the conversation, which ultimately will increase the total post counts.
