Why, you heard of stories of him throwing around Amercian marines?

Sounds like Japanese propganda

I am just saying what I have *HEARD* Maybe it is Japanese propaganda, maybe not. I tend to think that if he was not good, he would not have had many students and people would not think so highly of him. If he had sucked, we would hear stories of him getting his butt handed to him, if we heard any stories at all. (Usually people do not continue to tell tales about people who suck except in a cautionary fashion).

Good point, however, I agree that he had to have some skill to have a following...

But, from what I heard, he didnt take on any challengers outside of Aikido when he reached up in age.

I cannot really blame him. He may have been good, superb even, but in an unlucky moment, he could get an arm broken, or a hip....and in old age, those could have been fatal, so why risk it for the purpose of demonstration? Defending his life would be one thing, but demonstration is another thing entirely.

Indeed, but to many Aikidoists, all they were fascinated in was the way he moved and took out students within the style.

aikido is great! don't think about it like it some dances - perhaps, you've seen once some dances, called aikido! there are i'd say super masters that can beat anyone with it! this is not simple words - i knw the one - Kraevskij Victor - i've seen no one able to oppose him! if you are able to find someone like him-become his student-such masters very rare

The new style Ryusui-Ryu i have begun has large elements of Aikido in it.

i had my first experience of it last night and i really enjoyed it. If you dont have any experience in it it can really frikkin hurt

I really need to loosen up more

They also ripped on MMA, so they do make fun of themselves. I'm not a big fan of Aikido.

That's great. Making fun of an art by showing children having fun and unrelated material.
Yeah, some of the clips had some techniques that where poorly executed, and some people in hakamas goofing around, but that does in no way suggest that Aikido sucks.

One cannot rule out a art based upon belief of effectiveness in fights. A lot of fights are won without any physical application.
