What about Yoga, have you thought about that? Really good for getting you strong and flexible, very relaxing some of the time, and quite a work out the rest of the time.
I'd really recommend it, although I might be biased becuase it's from India!
What do you think of Nada, Raj, or Mantra?

Precisely. Unfortunate is he to live far from a decent-size metropolitan area.
However, if i had to travel 2 1/2 hours for lessons, I would do so if I really desired what I was seeking. (Heck, I already travel close to 1 1/2 hours to get to work)

Right off the bat you asked for Tai Chi Kata-there is no such thing.
I understand that it is not called kata, but you have to understand, I come from a basic karate background, so when I see a set of prearranged movements and stances used to aid in training, I automatically think kata. I have seen the Tai Chi movements called forms, is this correct? I remember in karate some students called it kata, and others called it forms. I (ignorantly) assumed that in Tai Chi they would mean the same thing as well.

It don't matter what u call it, just do it, every day.
If you have trouble finding the free downloads on previously mentioned site try Tai Chi Bagua Qigong

Yeah, I'm not trying to be captious, I just wanted to let you know it is not called katas.

I understand. So they are simply called "forms"? I enjoy learning, especially if it keeps me from making an ass of myself in the future. So thanks for letting me know that it is not called kata. Also, a thank you to everyone who helped me find those downloads is in order, so, thank you.
I had no idea they were types of meditation, I just knew the literal meanings. Raj means king, and mantra is poem (I think).
I don't know much about different types of yoga and meditation, I'm quite interested to find out more.
Funny you should say that about Nada=nodding off, my mate used to fall asleep all the time at the medition at the end of yoga, and start snoring loudly.

This is natural for beginners. They are truely relaxing too much to the point of sleeping.....
Makes sense why Bodhi man taught exercises at the Young Forest Temple/Monastary and not Chuan Fa/Gong Fu

Hello Bumper.I would recommend Tai chi to anyone. It's become the most rewarding thing I've ever done in life.If you find a teacher where you are make sure they know their stuff by asking about the martial application of each posture. This should be explained to you, every tai chi chuan posture can be used in a martial context no matter how unusual it may seem. Also a good teacher will start by explaining Essence of Tai Chi Chuan to you. This is the internal aspect centered around the waist (which means a whole lot more in Chinese thought).Hope you find what you're looking for.
