First, welcome aboard.

For being big, Judo/JuJitsu are some great arts to start off.

Kenpo is ok.

I say find something close to you that you can afford and practice until you find something else.

I have had large students such as yourself, and with a little training, they can be as agile as a 195 pounder.....

Large doesn't always equate to limitations.

What do you want to obtain from martial arts training? Is it to get in better shape? Or as you said get out some of your anger in a positive way? Those are the questions you have to ask your self. If that is the case you're going to want a physical art that allows you to not only hit stuff but also get into shape. See whats around you go visit some classes and find the art that best suits you.

Cheers bro good luck training.
Oh and welcome.

Either one is a good start. The key is finding a quality instructor, whether he/she is in a school or offers one-on-one classes. Be picky. If you have a variety of schools and arts to choose from, then go around and observe some classes. If free introductory classes are offered, then take advantage of those. Also, be sure to talk to the instructors and ask lots of questions. Let them know why you are interested in martial arts and what you hope to get out of your training. Good luck in your search.

I had a few football player as students. some didn't like being with a class as they didnt want to be stared at. Some I taught 1 on 1 without charging extra. Others, if they showed good heart and dedication, I didnt charge.

First thing, find a school.

Second, observe the school per stidents and training routines.

Third, talk to the instructor.

Yeah I would say go take a couple free trial lessons. Check out the instructor and the students see how they all interact with each other. See if it's something you jive with. Everybody could recommend an art to you but, they'll all be biased by what they study, including myself. Get what I'm saying? But if you've got questions fire them off.

Boxing is also a great martial art.

Kick boxing as well, if you like to strike things (kicking doesnt have to be head-high)

Any particular reason not to try that BJJ school that your friends go to?
