Forum AnnouncementsAnnouncements from the Forum Administrator
Even though this is a sticky, I am putting a new post on this topic to bring attention to the forum feature. We have a lot of newer people who don't seem to know about reputation and how to give or take it away.
I have pretty much won the war with 'Multi-quote' so now I am moving on to the next cool forum feature.

Get rid of the negative rep. Although I personally don't like to negative rep people the temptation has been there and for the wrong reasons (ie I was in a nasty mood). Also I think I may have accidently pressed negative rep when I planned to positive rep (I was busy looking after the kids and wasn't paying much attention).

-Rep is there as a community level censorship. If someone is engaging in personal insults or other 'bad' actions which simply aren't bad enough for mods to worry about give them a -Rep. Accordingly, +Reps should be reserved for constructive comments and conversations.
Keep in mind, however that -/+Reps should not be used because you disagree/agree with someone, but only based on the quality of their posts.

Just had a look. I can see the following:
1. Whether it's positive or negative.
2. The thread I got repped for (and links to that thread).
3. Date and time.
4. Reason.
I can't see a name (unless they state it) which is the most important thing for me seeing as I respect some members over others.
Also, I can't see where my Reputaion Power (how much I can increase another's rep when I +rep them) is listed.

Reason: spelling
I don't know if it's been mentioned but did you change the amount of boxes per rep points? I remember back in 2006 you were having trouble with it, or was it on purpose?
BTW this is directed to complete.

I know it is directed at Complete, but I know the answer. After a recent forum reset we didn't change the rep boxes back to their old value. The idea behind lowering it was so that people would see reps changing and use the feature more. Now that people are using it, we don't need that anymore.

A grey box is something that doesn't affect your rep points because the member is too new or the member has 0 rep power.

Thank you. You are correct on all counts. No wonder you are the one with the most rep points.
