Any posts counts in terms of numbers but we don't encourage members to say one word or "nice post" type of posting just to boost up their numbers.
It doesn't mean every post has to be an essay but if we suspect some members making too many meaningless posts, we may delete some of them and give them infraction.
As a registered member, everybody starts as a White Belt.
After you have posted 10 valid posts, you will be promoted to Orange Belt.
After you have posted 25 valid posts, you will be promoted to Yellow Belt.
After you have posted 50 valid posts, you will be promoted to Green Belt.
After you have posted 75 valid posts, you will be promoted to Purple Belt.
After you have posted 100 valid posts, you will be promoted to Blue Belt.
After you have posted 200 valid posts, you will be promoted to Brown Belt.
Affer you have posted 300 valid posts, you will be promoted to Red Belt.
Affer you have posted 400 valid posts, you will be promoted to Half-Black Belt.
After you have posted 500 valid posts, you will be promoted to your 1st Degree Black Belt.
Higher levels of Black Belts will be available after your 500 valid posts.

Wouldn't the Yellow Belt come BEFORE the Orange belt?

Every TKD club here in Korea has 10 coloured belts (white-Red/black), which represents each of the ten geup's. The colours may be different from Gwan to Gwan, but these are the official WTF TKD colours for the Geoje Region of Korea.
What the colours for each geup in the Seoul districts are, I have no idea.

I had taken TKD in Korea back in the 70's and in those days, there were only 6 belts - White, Yellow, Green, Blue, Red, and Black. It went from 10 Gup down to 1 Dan (first degree blackbelts) and basically you kept the same belt for 2 Gups each.
At some point, they expanded the number of belts......

Those are the exact same rankings that my TKD school has. Although I've seen orange belts in other styles. Pink belt just struck me as odd. No offense meant.

This is a great idea. It is a nice visual symbol for us newbies to this form to tell who has been posting more and shows the more experience with this forum.
