I dont think serious injuries are too common. Plenty of little aches and pains as result of hitting the mat hard though!

plenty of knocks, the odd concussion (due to not knowing how to land properly), few broken fingers from not releasing grips on certain throws. Nothing more than the majority of other arts

Injuries you have previously may get aggrivated due to the stress on certain joints and muscles.

I would say it depends on your conditioning and such. Someone who is new to Judo and who has been relatively innactive will probably suffer more injuries from lack of experience and body toughness. But, these are things you can overcome.

I'm no judo expert, but I can see some joint soreness coming about as well. Just keep to it, and work through the pain, in most cases your body will adjust. Just take care of yourself once your off the mat. That's half the battle.
