General Martial ArtsDiscuss General Martial Arts here
i was just wondering what types of uniforms or suits people wear for different martial arts!mine for tkd is a plain white dobuk your classic white jacket and trousers pretty boring!!gets dirty easily from all the rolling on the floor!and makes you sweat cos the material is heavy!none the less its very comfy!!
In Kung Fu we wear a pair of general martial arts trousers (black) , and a t-shirt (black), which gets pretty warm in summer!! Society name embroided on the chest and right thigh, and then a sash if u have it.
and in Thai boxing its whatever you like really, I stick to kickboxing shorts and a t-shirt. I just wear whatever is comfortable
In Soo Bahk Do I wear the traditional robe style do bok. Its the pro force 14oz. In BJJ i wear the pro force double weave judo gi. Its robe style as well but a lot thicker and better reinforced stitching.

the ninjutsu boots, or tabi have the toe split to allow you to wear them with slippers.
originally they were socks for wear with slippers or thonged outer wear. and later on the boots were modeled off of the slippers and kept the split toe design.
although the boots are tough material. when you wear them the soles are comfrotable an allows you to feel what is under your feet and gives u more tactile gripping ability with the ground compared to regular boots.
the boots were originally and are mostly used by carpenters, construction workers, farmers , and other types of workmen in Japan
then later on was part of the modern ninjutsu Uniform.

I'm supposed to wear the Capoeira wife beater style t-shirt thing with our logo on it but often I just wear a white t-shirt. The Capoeira trousers are made of some magical material which is very light and very strechable, I've no idea what on earth it is. My corda (which looks more like a woven rope than a traditional martial arts belt) goes through the holes around the waist and then goes down the right leg.
Haven't got my dobok for Tang Soo Do yet, it arrived at my club just after I left uni for the holidays.

Ah, Steven Seagull, I bet nobody's thought of that before.
For TKD we would wear the standard white dobuk with tae kwon do writen across the back, and then one logo on the front, as for kung fu, we had black kung fu trousers with a small white crane on the bottom of one leg, then a black t shirt with chinese writing saying fujian white crane kungfu and on the back a white crane
