Well, I think that is one of the benefit of having a name as simple as Martial Forums
Never quite thought of it that way, but that is an excellent point. The name really does attract you. It may have been the 3rd or 4th in the list from Google when I was searching, but for some reason I was drawn to it - must have been the simplicity of the name. great observation!
I just tested it out and I thought I used Google to find the site, but its not in the search list as you stated. I then went to Yahoo and typed in a search for "martial arts forum" and this site shows up first. I have to guess that I used yahoo instead of Google to find the site. I usually use one of those 2 search engines.
It's the Yahoo search engine that's been sending a lot of good members to this forum. I'm working on "optimizing" this forum the way Google likes it so hopefully in next couple of months, it will start to show up on Google search as well.
Google has indexed over 1,000 pages of this forum, but somehow it's not tied to "Martial Arts Forum" and when people search for those terms, it's not associated with all the pages of this forum and it does not show up on the search. I have heard this is common - the vast difference between Yahoo and Google search.
Something like that. I had to see this forum as Google bot would see it and the description wasn't quite there, didn't have enough key words, and I had to change the title from "Martial-Forums" to "Martial Arts Forums".
