I have a Judo 1st dan and also a black belt 1st degree in Combat Sambo (Russian combat grappling). Have also done some boxing and a small amount of karate.
Congratulations. It's cool watching you progress. It wasn't too long ago that you just got your blue belt. Keep us informed of your progress. I can't wait to see you get your blackbelt.
Thanks, but the Black Belt will be at least a year away now. It's been tough training 3 or 4 nights a week many weeks but my son is keeping me motivated. He had some motivation issues during baseball season, it was very hard to go to practice and games and keep up with our training. And then there is his schoolwork - only in second grade, but he has so far maintained an all A average. His only B right now is in handwriting (cursive - does anyone really use this anymore with exception for a signature?).
In Turkey you have to had at least red belt to join tournaments and generally the belt passing exams are organized in 3 months but if you are more talented instructors decide which level appropriate for you
