My info on Wing Chun comes from many sources. I always felt that knowing the history of a MA can give you some insight into the MA inself. A couple of resources I used are;
and also the book "Mastering Kung Fu Featuring Shaolin Wing Chun" by Garrett Gee, Benny Meng, and Richard Loewenhagen
It very obvious that both the Wing Chun Museum and the authors of the above book did extensive research.
I also never said that Wing Chun doesn't work on conditioning. In my opinion, any martial art that actually trains in real life application should have some form of conditioning. Wing Chun just doesn't rely on strength to achieve its goals. However, if you have physical power and strength then you have more tools to use than someone who doesn't have those attributes.

So you guys would say "Go for kickboxing", I'm a bit afraid of not learning any techniques at the kicboxing classes, just punching. And you say wing chun don't really build on strength, is it a really a good choice then? (sorry for being stupid but I'm finding this really hard)
Gå til begge skolene på besøk, du får sikkert være med en time gratis... Etter timen skriver du ned + og - om begge tingene, og så velger du ut derfra hva du vil gjøre

Thanks for all the answers, just One more question.
I'm going for the Wing Chun Kung Fu, but I have also heard allot of good things about Shaolin Kung Fu. What is the major difference and is it possible to jump from Wing Chun Kung Fu to Shaolin Kung Fu?

Shaolin Kung Fu er fra Shaolin Templene i Kina, Wing Chun er fra landsbyer i Kina... Les mer om det på Wikipedia

Shaolin Kung Fu was chronologicaly first and its based on moving meditations and animal movements. Wing Chun came from Shaolin and is basically a condenced version, leaving out anything the creators decided wasn't efficent. A word of caution about both, make sure live energy is applied and martial science is the base of whichever style you decide to take. Whithout those two things it isn't real kung fu.

I say to research teachers very well. Talk to other students and their time there. Dont rush to pick something out of namesake.

Ok, so I found two potential martial arts ..but I'm still finding it hard to chose one as I have no fighting experience
The choice is between kick boxing or Wing Chun Kung Fu
I kinda want the whole pack, defence, offence, kicking and hitting .. (yes I know I sound kinda spoild :P) but what would you recommend and what are the pluses and minuses with the two?
I would reccommend ITF TKD or Muay Thai, even Krav Maga... very lethal very fast.
Are you aiming to kill or just maim?
