Lol, it probably does help. I tend to get the 'Your crazy for doing that' reaction, which I know chicks like...if only I was in college again...because as my wife says 'I liked that badboy attitude at first when we were 20, but now that weve been together for 8 years, I dont find that stuff attractive anymore'.
I will admit though, even guys that I am friends with from high school/college think that I am a bada$$ for doing BJJ, even though I try to explain that I get submitted 24/7. And when I show them how to do a RNC or Triangle choke, they think I am an expert even though I explain these are the basics and first things you learn. I guess since the basics are what they see in UFC, they are impressed.
Hell, I just got turned on listening to you describe it and I'm not even gay!!!

Don't be mean, Brazilian Jujitsu is only gay if you make eye contact.
We just had fleet week over here in NYC. Believe me, the armed forces have no problem getting the hot chicks. Atleast... that is what my girlfriend is tells me.

So was I, the U.S. Marines have a martial arts program with belt rank and everything. They do incorperate some BJJ concepts, but thats dealing primarily with specific concepts from BJJ and not a specific system. The U.S. Army teaches the Gracie Combatives program in basic and unless your an NCO corperal or higher you never see the rest of the Army combatives system. Which addresses another point of mine...[/QUOTE]
i dont understand what you meant by this?. cause technically even in low density MOS....like Quartermaster corps for instance, everyone should be at least a level 2 regardless of rank, a company usually has at least 3 or so level 2s running around regardless of rank.
i know a bunch of privates who are level 3s, cause they came from Korea or another duty station where they are big into combatives.
some places....like where im stationed at now though dont even get into the program alot. ive been here 8 months an havent done combatives yet lol. so im stuck at level 1.
i heard a while back from another soldier that some bases and units are like that cause you have these old school senior leaders who dont really like combatives an they use thier authority to how u say....put a monkey wrench into the program
an hold it back. they would rather waiste time on retarded ass training on things that are outdated or stuff we would never use if we were on deployment

A good friend of mine was 11-13 Bravo in Desert storm and a Ranger so I know a bit more about rangers. I never thought they were Rambo. Besides Rambo was a green beret and a former member of delta group and could kill you with his thoughts.
Triangle, what your friends do or did doesn't mean you understand exactly what the whole cscope is like. I've had NCOs who went to Ranger School, been to Ranger Bat and even a few with Sniper School and SF Tabs.
The U.S. Army/Marine treains its general soilders in small teams tactics and guerrilla operations from the get go. Most grunts don't even realize this, in SF selection to do the same Battle Drills (small teams stratigic exercises) as you do in basic training. Remember, I actually was an NCO in the infantry 11B .
The big picture which you missed is this, the modern hand-to-hand in intended for low intessity conflicts (i.e. peace keeping missions and so forth), the differences in BJJ and Judo aside from positioning and focus is superficial (same base techniques). Traditional Combative programs such as LINE where based off the concepts of battlefield and had almost the same techniques as found in Modern Combatives training, the difference is not in techniques but training focus...
