If you want to be a fighter that is your motivation. If you need to motivate your self still, then you really don't want to be a fighter. Just play tekken and pretend

I think the realization that I suck. I mean I'm prob not out of the bottom 10% of martial artists in the world. That truly sucks. If I cant be a good fighter then I proabably cant be good at anything. So I'll subject myself to as many things as possible in hopes to become a professional fighter. I'm tired of watching other people fight and seeing how much more skill and dedication they have than me. It pisses me off. But thats why I keep watching.

So my motivation is knowing that there are millions of martial artists in the world with more skill than me and it pisses me off.

You cannot suck at everything, pick something that you enjoy and can get better at. If it is boxing, Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, Muay Thai. Then just work on that aspect of your game, once that comes together you can add more to it.

In my case I am a BJJ guy and my ground game is probably in the top 15%. At this time I am adding wrestling and some Boxing with lite Muay Thai. Stand-up is VERY VERY tough on me because I do not enjoy it but realize I need it. Stay positive, get some solid training parters that can pick you up. Go to church and worship Jesus and everything will come together!

Its not that I suck as in a I cant do anything. Its just that skill is a relative term. Sure, I can kick a 6'6'' guy in the face without jumping but that 6'6'' guy is prob just some noob that is a higher belt than me but is nowhere near my actual skill level.

But what you've prescribed is what I've essentially done. I feel like my standup is at a good point that I can move on to my submission grappling. Which is what I'm focusing on now, well as soon as my shoulder is cleared by the Dr anyway.

I'm also going to start Kyokushin Karate which incorporates no pad sparring and lateral shin kicks to the legs so that will toughen me up for full contact (in theory anyway). I think I'm slowly but surely finding good partners that can assist my goal. Like the next 13 to 14 months are going to be key in assessing whether or not my goals are realistic or fantasy.

I think I've already shared my opinion with you on this. Find a new training camp. You don't have to be rude or mean about it but I don't think you and your team share the same goals. In the end do whats right for you and your career

I prob would find a new team if that didnt include me totally packing up my things and moving to a new city. There is nothing noteworthy in my area that is unknown to me and that I havent already checked out.

And while my road is kind of long and winding it isnt impossible. I am good with whatever outcome results from the choices I make, from a submission grappling standpoint. I may just have to settle for kickboxing and in that case my road will be pretty much perfect.

To be honest I'd love to take you up on that offer in not so distant future.

I can extrapalate from the martial artists that I do know and the ones that I've seen compete in say the IFL, WCL, UFC, K1, and so on.

I do plan on competing in a few years but not until I'm atleast satisfied with my own standing within my training halls, my city. If you cant beat the people you know then whats the point in fighting paying (tournys) to fight people you dont know.

Like we are starting a comp team but there is no point in me joining. I need to fight the people in my dojahng for the monthly fee, there is no point in paying 70 bucks to go to a comp and fight one person and if he's a color belt then it is a complete waste of my time.

Women, that is the only motivation a guy ever needs! All girls love a good fighter!!!! (Probably why I'm single...)

Nah just kidding, I think you will always be motivated if it's something you truly want, and a good team around you helps obviously
