Honestly not too many. I have a pretty chilled out disposition. I was always taught to avoid fighting. The few adult fights I've been in were caused by my friends, and then me backing them up.

I have an interesting story that happened last week that I will post when I get a chance, but I usually don't get into many fights. Generally, if you are getting into a lot of fights, then something is wrong. Since I was 14 (part 10 years basically) I've been in one real fight, that was unavoidable. I had to defend my (female) friend, who was drunk and only 18 at the time, and a 22 year old man (with military training) tried to beat the $h!t out of her.

I can honestly say in my 33 years of life, I've never been in a street fight. I've come close a few times. I've never started anything with anyone. I don't have anything to prove. Some people just feel like they have to act like "Billy Bad A$$".

I can say two things with veracity:
One, I've never started a fight.
Two, Ive never tried to avoid one.
So I wouldn't know how to answer your question. Most people in the forums probably have more integrity than me, but if I'm given a legitimate excuse to kick someone's ass, I'll take it.
I sort of look forward to them. That's bad...

We do not rise to the occasion in combat. We fall back on our training.

Well, how many times have you had your ass kicked?

I do my best not to fight. If I do fight then there has to be a damn good reason why I am fighting, like it was unavoidable. There is just no upside to fighting. Someone is going to get more than thier feelings hurt.

I think I'm with Basho, why should I have to avoid a fight? I mean that in the sense of, if I'm walking around my area, why should I be trying to avoid any of them? It's what they really want :/

Reasons to avoid fighting...in no particular order;
Litigation is expensive
hospitals are expensive
funerals are expensive
people might miss you if you get killed
getting handcuffed by the police isn't a pleasant experience
jails are no fun even if the stay is short
retaliation
Looking over your shoulder all the time grates on one's nerves
ripped and bloody clothes aren't badges of honor
chicks really don't dig scars
really hurting someone is disturbing to someone with certain morailties.
if someone wants to fight me, why should I do what he wants?
These are just things I thought of right off the top of my head. None of them are really worth it because someone wants to be an ass. Perhaps its a difference of perception. I don't think of fights as two kids rough housing in a school yard. To me a fight is quick, vicious, and dangerous.
