Octagon....

Hey idk if this is the right section or not, but ill post it here anyway. I recently just made about 500 dollars (from doing an easy job, winning a lot at OTB, allowance, and selling my xbox. So i was thinking, wouldn't it be so cool to have a mini octagon in my basement? Because right now my basement is nothing but empty space. I was wondering how much it would cost to make a mini octagon and where i could get the supplies. (i would probably make it myself to save money, i would use like a big matt, and some sort of fence thingy.) Anyone know how or when or where i could accomplish stuff? Keep in mind i want enough left over to buy a set of sparring gear (about 40-50 each) for me and my brother so we can use it in said octagon. Also, a kicking shield wouldn't hurt either. (can get for maybe 30.) Someone tell me how to accomplish this! Maybe it could be like a project or something??!

Well if your looking to get a wrestling type mat get ready to spend like $300 or more for a 10 ft x 10 ft section!

You could use one or more of those portable dog kennels (chain-link fencing) for the sides. But I think it's going to be hard to build a remotely nice octagon with a budget of only $500.

You should check out a local boxing club.. ask to look at their ring!! (make sure to look under the ring, etc!) I wouldn't go with an octagon, but with a boxing ring and if you like, you could add the caged sides. JMO!

octogons are going to cost way more than 500.

i agree just get some type of jigsaw mats. they are as good training on and in your budget.

if you still want one try google or yahoo.

Im gonna try the dog kennel chain with 3 excesize (heavily padded) matts which run at 30 dollars each so thats 90, plus the sparring gear which will cost me about 50. Idk about the dog kennel.
