MMA champions...

Who are some MMA champions that in your opinion should not wear the gold? Meaning you think they arent necessarily paper tigers but if said guy was given the opportunity they'd walk away the winner. Please defend your stance.

The only champions right now that I think maybe are a little untested are Carlos Condit WEC welter weight champ and Brain Stan WEC light Heavy weight champ. Neither of these guys has really faced a top competitor in their weight class. Not that they would automatically lose just that they've never been tested.

Really all champions in all organizations are pretty strong right now. Which is nice.

Do you think there's a chance of a cross promotional event, maybe not champion vs champion but some good fighters? Kind of like Raw vs Smackdown.

Back when Pride was still around, there was some talk about UFC champions vs. Pride champions but I kind of doubt UFC would do that with any other organizations. They still feel they have the best fighters in the world, so by having these cross promotions, they have little to gain and lot to lose.

We could see UFC v WEC since they are both owned by Zuffa. That would be cool

Have no idea when this was but it had to be after his 2 losses. But I just saw Diego Sanchez kill some Italian guy with his standup. Anybody think he has a shot at the title. I think he's a welterweight if I'm not mistaken. If thats true he and the Italian looked a lot bigger than 170lbs.

Diego is a welterweight and yes, he did lose two in a row after maintaining his perfect record and hoping for the title shot. I'm sure he's one of the top contender but he's still behind few others who never had the title shot, like Josh Koscheck, Jon Fitch (he's getting one now), and now Thiago Alves.

Isnt part of the problem with MMA (as in getting guys their title shots in a timely fashion) that the guys fight too infrequently? I mean if you werent damaged then why so long in between fights? It seems training puts more stress on the bodies than does fighting. Are the long layoffs the business side of things?

Before Zuffa bought out PRIDE FC Dana White entered Chuck Liddel in the PRIDE Middle Weight Grand Prix (205lbs). He did well knocking out Alister Oversteen and Guy Mezger but then got dominated by Quinton Jackson.

its hard to say who would have won. because whos rules do you fight under pride i.e head stomps and in a ring or ufc elbows and in the cage.
