yeah, but then again there could be a guy who has more strength then me since i practice dynamic speed and power, and he lifts weights you know?
so even though we are in the same weight class, he could still toss me around like nothing.
Wrestling is not all about strength, AND I would hope that you are working on developing your own strength.

To Tell the truth, I am working on strenght, but in a different way. I do lift weights, but barely anymore since i am focusing on speed, flexability, and Power. The way i build my strength is to not use weight or very few weights, and just use my own body and environment such as push ups, sit ups, pull ups, handstand push ups, etc. basically i am doing it more naturally and the way a gymnast does it.
I still weight lift but not as much anymore

Peer pressure doesnt have to come form your scholastic and age area.
Look around, Im sure you will find things tht you enjoy, that others enjoy also. that others have you liking also.
Peer pressure isn't about all things bad.
i understand, but i also thought that peer pressure was more pressure you know. so saying that i think that unless i am not being pressured into anything. so then to me that means even though kids say that my wearing kung fu suits, and martial arts influence is not hip, or cool, and that i should sagg, and say the "N" word all the time is the right way to go. that is what i meant by i do not give in

that is a good point, and no i haven't, so i don't know if i will or will not like it or not. THAT being said, i guess i just judged before having any experience in what i was saying.
You judged it before trying it based upon;
to tell the truth, it is both, but more of the jock attitudes. I know that it would help in other styles like i said before, but I think that from what i have seen and learned from my brother (wrestler and football player) is that there are a lot of attitudes that i am not a big fan of such as i stated in my crappy "i want" topic.
Stick to your conviction, "it maybe worth studying, but you have other things more pressing in your line-up"

I need to stick by my convections ...got it
that actually helps me from sounding extremely gullible

Well sounding/being naive/gullible is not a matter of less/more conviction.
Simply, many people may not know or understand what are you trying to say.
You have to explain in a communitive way.
For example;
*If you state that you do this or that because its cool
*Or-If you state that you walk around in a Kung Fu uniform.
These may seem absurd.
But, if you explain that your are of a certain age, and that doing so is a fashion statement, provided that this statement is not breaking any laws, and not doing harm in some way, then it has a better understanding for those and of your conviction.
but then you have those who are going to "test" your conviction.....like a crazy old bird road kill bird.....

example, bruce lee was my weight and height, yet he destroyed 300lbs heavy bags
You cannot compare yourself to Bruce Lee, or any Martial art super star for that matter. These guys have been training like 5 hours a day ever day for like 30 years. (Even more in Chuck Norri'ses, Jet Li's, and Jackie Chan's cases.)It's like if you were a fat chick comparing yourself to Jessica Alba, just not right. It's their job to be good at martial arts and you do it for a hobby or self-defence or whatever.
Back on topic, the reason i am debating it is because i've never done a hardcore sport before, and from what my dad tells me it's hard as hell. Im not sure if i'm ready but it can't hurt to try...

no, i am not comparing myself i am using that as an example that if people train hard enough, then they can do whatever. so i was saying that even though there are weight classes, there can be a guy who is wayyyyyy stronger and can do more than what his weight class says.
I am not comparing, I am making examples.

Wrestling is a very good sport to get into. Personally, I prefer catch wrestling(freestyle wrestling that allows submissions), but High School wrestling is an excellent start, and a good way to improve your mat skills.....obviously.
