The older generation of Gracies had some pretty weird views on sex: only for procreation, for a start. With all due respect to his many accomplishments in martial arts (particularly as he only passed away very recently), Helio was a bit outdated when it came to perpectives on sexuality, downright offensive at times. E.g., this interview.

Heh - conception is not quite so easy that you'd end up with a baby every time, so I'd imagine it was a fair few more than that.
