The black belt is not a mark or symbol of the end of the journey to ones mastery of the arts; rather it is the mark that one is done packing for their journey and may now take the first step in their true journey. This a journey which can not ever be complete, only traveled..."
Yep I'm a wrestler primarily folkstyle and Greco-Roman, placed in Illinois state twice, one time All American, placed in Greco-Roman nationals. Never did much freestyle competition, I regret that a little.

Greco is where you can't grab the person below the waist. I believe the point system is done by throws and ground control. Found this video on youtube. Seems quite different than traditional wrestling.

Folkstyle is what is done in high schools Freestyle is done in College. The main difference is in some of the scoring and rules. In freestyle depending on the height of the throw you are awarded different points 3 point throw or 5 point throw. In folkstyle going over your head with a throw can result in a penalty.
Greco-Roman is generally characterized by it's upper body throws. Since leg attacks are not allowed you can't do things like back leg trips and so on. Check out my history of wrestling thread in the grappling section it has more info.
