| I train both Hapkido and Shaolin Kempo. I am finding many similarities, although there are distinct stylistic differences, as well. I agree with the post about the quality of the instructor. As a black belt in Hapkido, I was careful to evaluate the Kempo instructor and school I joined recently. I've been away from training for a while, but wanted the real deal and not a "black belt factory" fitness program school (you know, the pay us a lot now and you're guaranteed a black belt in a year). I believe I found a high-quality school and a top-notch instructor.
I'm a firm believer that cross-training in different styles can only benefit a martial artist.
