I dont drink. If I do its at a wedding where I might toast with champeign or something. Or once in a great while I might have some sort of girly taste good drink but its only one and its only like twice a year. Ive never been drunk in my life.
oh, i forgot to mention, the best thing that i did after my BB test is get drunk. alcohol is a depressant thus my muscles relaxed and would not tense as easy and i woke up the next day with out any aches or pains.
The depressant isnt the same as muscle relation.
Carefull, where it relaxes the muscles, it will "relax the brain"

it should be.... by depressant they do not mean psychologically, although that is often already there unrelated.... they mean that it decreases the reactivity of the neuron receptors. thus it takes much more chemicals sent out to cause a neuron to react. with this being the case your body, in a way, starts to shut down because it is not responding to your impulses... thus your tense muscles will not stay tense because your body is shutting down the message "contract"

Another issue associated with alcohol use involves alcohol's tendency to slowly deplete vitamins already in the body and to interfere with the absorption and storage of new nutrients. Even one or two drinks per day can cut supplies of vitamins to below normal levels. Alcohol burns up supplies of B complex vitamins which regulate important enzyme and metabolic functions. The heart, liver, thyroid, and kidneys are affected by Vitamin B deficiencies. Vitamin A deficiency reduces the body's resistance to disease. Alcohol also can affect the levels of Vitamin C in the body which can contribute to anemia, reduced resistance to disease and over stimulation of the adrenal gland.

Some martial artists tried at least three times to give up alcohol before they were finally successful. Their words of wisdom: "Don't give up."
Keys to success included building a life with no room for alcohol. For many, this involved exercise. Not only does exercise help manage stress and elevate endorphins for a "natural high," but it is also healthful and can be a new source of gratification.
Along with exercise comes eating healthfully. And as you can imagine, when you feel good about yourself and life, alcohol has less power.
In relation to the Instructor Fitness thread, is there a con to both of these subjects, esp in image projection?

Nope. Alcohol isn't the root of all evil.
It is, however, bad for you.
All that has already been posted is true.
Moderation mitigates the worst of these effects, and a few types of alcohol actually have benefits that outweigh the damage of moderate consumption. Red wine in particular comes to mind.
The Good News
Alcohol in moderation has health benefits. Red wine, for example,
contains health-protective phytochemicals that may reduce the risk of heart disease. Wine may explain why the people in France, who have been eating a high fat diet for years, enjoy better heart-health than might be expected. Red wine is also a good source of dietary iron, a mineral that helps prevent anemia. Beer has a few nutritional merits, such as a significant amount of B-12, a vitamin important for vegetarians.

thanks i was going to post that but just didn't care enough to do a bit of reseach to get my facts straight
yea it numbs their feeling of pain, alowing them to take harder hits and to do combos that would normally be interuppted. and they can fall and not be hurt.
