I personally feel that sprinting is the only way to go. I will give myself a mileage and break it up so I can go full speed at each segment. I mean if I run 2 segmented miles as hard as I can thats better than jogging two miles right?
How do you like to do your cardio?

sprinting is suppose to be very good for MA because that is the type of endurace you need for MA... you keep stopping and then attacking full speed.... i don't know if training with sprints in fact helps with that, but that is how i have always been told to train by my master and senior black belts.
I really shouldnt have sprinted before class yesterday. My stances looked like crap because I could barely control my quads. I know my sensai had to be scratching his head.
I didnt tell him that I did sprint work before coming to class. Do you think he wouldve cared?

At my Tae kwon do class we do jogging then towards the very end we sprint as far as we can.

sprint benefits the leg strength for the sudden let out of energy
Chinese 'bao fa li' literally explosive power which is a very important aspect especially for sparring,wrestling
but generally jog is a much better ,in the sense of fitness of course.
